The Bristol Police Records Division is staffed by administrative workers whose primary purpose is to compile, update and maintain  department records. Supervised by Lt. Richard Guerrera, the division retains all parking tickets, alarm registrations & violations, motor vehicle and criminal statistics. Due to the large number of calls received for information, report information is not released over the telephone.

Copies of police reports are available in person or by mail (no fax). If you wish to receive a report by mail, you must send a request, including a SASE, incident number, and the correct amount due. The report request must be prepaid. The cost for police reports is $0.50 per side.

Police reports are generally available in three working days. Before picking up a report, call Records to be sure the report is available. Reports with arrest information are not available until all charges have been adjudicated in court. For those that need an arrest report prior to their court date, a lawyer may contact the court clerk to obtain a copy. Incidents pertaining to juveniles, medical reports, statements, sexual assaults, and uncorroborated allegations are not released by the department.

Local criminal record checks are available in person with a valid identification.

Fee:     No criminal record:        $  5.00
            Criminal record:            $15.00
