The Building Department is located in City Hall at 111 North Main Street, on the second floor. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Permits are issued from 8:00 AM to 4:15 PM. We accept cash or check for payment.

The Building Department is responsible for the public safety, health and welfare for those people who live work and play in the City Of Bristol. Whether in our homes, offices, schools, stores, factories or places of entertainment, we rely on safety of the structures that surround us in our every day lives. This is accomplished by enforcing the current prevailing codes, regulations, ordinances and statutes adopted by the City Of Bristol and the State Of Connecticut.

The Building Department has 2 Divisions: Building Inspection and Zoning Enforcement/Code Enforcement.
