Welcome to the City of Bristol Risk Management/Claims Department
We are located in City Hall on the 2nd Floor. Office Hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday.

General Damage Claims (see below for Mailbox damage claims):
To file a claim against the City, you must submit a letter in writing.
The letter must include:
Your name, address and telephone number
State the reason for your claim and how the incident occurred
Give the date and time of the incident
Provide the exact location (name of street and closest house/business number)
Inform us if you have contacted the Police, Public Works or appropriate Department regarding the problem.
Submit any estimates/paid invoices with your letter.
Your letter must have an original signature (no copies accepted). Please mail (or hand deliver to the City Clerk's Office -1st Floor in City Hall) your letter and documents. Mailing address:

Your claim will then be investigated and it will be reviewed by the City's General Liability carrier, Trident Insurance of Greenfield, Massachusetts.
After an investigation by Trident Insurance, you will be contacted by letter as to the outcome of your claim.
