The Department of Public Works is under the policy direction of the Board of Public Works. By Charter, the Mayor is the Chairman. The Mayor appoints three (3) Council Members for their terms of office, and three (3) private citizens are appointed for three (3) years in staggered terms.

The Board of Public Works meets on the third Thursday of the month, except as noted, at 6:00 p.m. in the Meeting Room on the first floor of City Hall (111 North Main Street).
