"DUI Enforcement Program Funding" |

The Connecticut Department of Transportation has awarded the Bristol Police Department a $143,000 DUI Enforcement Grant. With the funding, the BPD will staff extra officers during patrol shifts for the sole purpose of apprehending suspected intoxicated drivers. Check points will also be used during the funding period. Since 2004, the BPD has made close to 1,400 DUI arrests. The BPD is committed to rid the streets of intoxicated operators while reducing the number of DUI related accidents, injuries, and fatalities. |
