  On February 10, 1998, local businessman Louis "Pete" LaFontaine was found shot to death in the bedroom of his Stafford Avenue home. He died of multiple gunshot wounds to his head. He was the longtime owner of Accurate Repair and Ace Appliance on Park Street. Police conducted an intensive investigation into his murder and were unable to make an arrest.
