  "Downtown Bristol Bear "

A black bear was recently spotted roaming around downtown Bristol. Police officers monitored the situation and determined the bear could not get back to a wooded area on it's own. In the area of Summer Street and Lincoln Place, the bear climbed a tree and took a much needed rest. Officers from the DEP were notified and arrived at the scene. Shortly after, the bear climbed down from the tree and DEP officers used a tranquilizer gun to stop the bear in the residential neighborhood.
