1960's - Officer Cornelius Connolly on foot patrol with Rin-Tin-Tin

Bristol Police Officer Cornelius Connolly was regularly assigned to the “West End” foot patrol during the early 1960’s. His unofficial partner was Rin-Tin-Tin. The dog was from the West End neighborhood and would frequently accompany the officer on foot patrol.

In this photo, Officer Connolly is visiting the employees of Minella’s Market that was located at the corner of Divinity & West Streets. This was the place to stop by and grab a hot dog.

Officer Connolly lived in the northside area of town and would take a city bus to get to his work assignment at the West End where Rin-Tin-Tin would be waiting for him.

The man in the middle is the meat cutter – Charles Aldieri Sr. The man on the right is the market owner – Tony Minella.
