Prevention of Teen Suicide Prevention of Teen Suicide
Student leaders from Bristol high schools request your support and assistance with a YELLOW RIBBON CAMPAIGN TO PREVENT YOUTH SUICIDES in our community and raise awareness of risk factors, coping mechanisms and community resources. This campaign is sponsored by Bristol Youth Services’ Peer Education Program.

As part of their community outreach, Bristol youth will be distributing Yellow Ribbon “Ask 4 Help” Cards. Teens who have attempted suicide tell that they were so overwhelmed at the time of their crisis that they did not know what to say to ask for help. The cards are a “voice” for youth when they can’t find the words to say “I need help.” Studies have shown that the risk of suicide decreases after a child has discussed his/her crisis with a trusted adult.

To get your own “Ask 4 Help” card or to learn more about how to get involved in the Yellow Ribbon Campaign, please contact me at (860) 314-4690 or bristolyellowribbon@yahoo.com. The volunteers and staff of the Yellow Ribbon Campaign to Prevent Youth Suicide extend our best wishes to you for a healthy and happy year.Placeholder for basic info on yellow ribbon.
