COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
On an annual basis, federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) entitlement funds are allocated to the City from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to rebuild and revitalize Bristol neighborhoods and support its low- and moderate-income residents. The Bristol Development Authority (BDA) ensures the funds are used appropriately in accordance with stringent federal guidelines. BDA manages CDBG funds through a 5-year Consolidated Plan, currently in effect 2010 - 2015.
The 5-Year Consolidated Plan 2010-2015 was approved by HUD, along with the Year 36 Annual Action Plan for 7/1/10-6/30/11. Click here to view the approved Use of Funds for year 36.
BDA staff manages a Housing Rehabilitation program with CDBG dollars; and oversees Commercial Rehabilitation projects.
NOTE: As of 2/17/09 the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009 was signed into law. Click here for information on the Substantial Amendment and click here for the Spreadsheet sent to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) on June 5, 2009.
