The City of Bristol is seeking bids to replace manhole tops and frames within Pine Street (Route 72) as well as within Middle Street and King Street (Route 229) in Bristol, CT. Bid documents may be obtained at no charge by downloading via the document link noted below.
A non-mandatory bidder’s conference will be held on March 15, 2019 at 9:00 am in the Administration Building of the Water Pollution Control Facility, located at 75 Battisto Rd, Bristol, CT.
Bids will be accepted until March 26, 2019 at 1:00 pm in the Purchasing Department located in Bristol City Hall, at which time bids will be opened and read. Bids received after the opening date and time will not be considered for award. The City reserves the right to waive any informalities in the bid, to reject any or all bids, and to accept the bid that in its judgment is in its best interest.
Each bid shall be in a sealed envelope addressed to the City of Bristol Purchasing Department, identified as "Bid 2C19-100 Replacement of Sanitary Sewer Manholes Within State Roadways" accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of 10% of the bidders base bid amount, in the form of a Bid Bond made payable to the City of Bristol.
The awarded contractor will be required to secure a Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the contract award, provided by a surety licensed to do business in the State of Connecticut. The requirements for prevailing wage rates as outlined within G.G.S. 31-53 are to apply to the resultant contract award.
The successful Bidder shall not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, religion, gender, or national origin. The Contractor will take affirmative action to ensure that applicants are employed, and that employees are treated during employment without regard to their race, color, religion, gender, or national origin.
