CHIPPENS HILL MIDDLE SCHOOL was randomly chosen for an audit by Secretary of the State Denise Merrill on November 14th.
As required by Connecticut General
Statutes §9-320f, five percent of the polling places in the Election
using optical scan voting machines are subject to an audit. 677
precincts used optical scan voting machines on November 7th and 34
precincts were chosen to have their results audited. The audit will take place on November 30th at 1:00 pm in the Registrars of Voter's Office.
The primary purpose of the hand count audit is to assess how well the optical scan voting machines functioned during the November 7th Election and to ensure that votes cast using these machines are counted properly and accurately.
