Purchased from Bristol Savings Bank in 1973, Birge Pond / Hoppers Park is located on Beech Street and features open space with kettles, hiking, and walking trails. Available amenities include:

Hoppers Birge Pond Nature Preserve Rules

  • Area open dawn to dusk
  • Pets are allowed on leash only
  • Motorized vehicles of any kind including gas powered motor boats are prohibited
  • No mountain bikes
  • No open fires permitted
  • Alcoholic beverages and controlled substances are prohibited
  • No hunting or trapping
  • Do not create new trails on park property
  • Please do not pick up, damage or remove anything other than litter-leave only footprints
  • No loud noises- wildlife sleeping
  • Any major emergency dial 911. Any observed violations or damages should be reported to the Bristol Parks & Recreation Dept. at 860-584-6160.

Nature Preserve Events 2016

27th Annual Fall Foliage Hike & Presentation- "Legends & Lore of the Hoppers" Sunday, Oct. 23rd from 1:30pm to 3:30pm- FREE- Meet at Crescent/Beech St parking lot- trails may be steep, rocky, and muddy in places, sturdy shoes advised- Rain cancels event- Call 860-309-6072 for information.
 Children must be accompanied by an adult- pets must be leashed.
