Public Hearings - Ordinance Committee

Notice is hereby given that in accordance with Sec. 21(f) of the City Charter, a public hearing is scheduled by the Ordinance Committee of the City Council, duly authorized, on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 in the First Floor Meeting Room, City Hall, 111 North Main Street, Bristol, CT on the following proposed amendments to the Bristol Code of Ordinances.  

  • Sec. 2-33 through Sec. 2-40. To create a Personnel Committee. Hearing to start at 4:45 p.m.
  • Sec. 19-16 through Sec. 19-20. To rename police captains as deputy chiefs, give authority to the chief of police to solicit applicants, update the name of personnel to human resources, and clarify physical requirements in the police force. Hearing to start at 4:50 p.m.


News publication of the complete text of the Ordinances are dispensed with due to their length.  Copies are available for public distribution at the City Clerk’s Office during office hours.
